The official Islamic Republic News Agency of Iran reported a statement made by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia over the weekend in which he said his nation’s new oil discoveries must be saved for the benefit of future generations.

The agency gave no details of the new discoveries but the remark is interesting because it infers that the world’s  largest producer of oil has found significant new deposits that could impact world supply.
